Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes

Members attending: Mike Braun, Ed Chapman, Laurie Barrera, Gretchen Plough, Blair Hamilton, Steve Ward, Diane Smith and Paul Timkey

- Call to order and welcome
- Minutes: The trustees considered the minutes of the April 14, 2025 meeting. Gretchen moved and Blair seconded the motion. It was approved and carried unanimously.
- Guest Speaker: None
- Treasurers Report: Laurie reported income of $319.05 for April 10 –May 10. Expenses totaled $897.02. Diane moved and Ed seconded to accept report. The motion was approved and carried by a unanimous vote.
- Committee & Project Reports:
- Technology- none
- Tree Mapping, Inventory & Signage:
- About 80% of our QR codes have been placed on signs
- We have new concept of decal sign by Schuberts
- Blair made a motion and Diane seconded to order 25 signs to try out
- Donation sign is to be added beside the donation box
- Tree Maintenance & Pruning Plan: none
- Ground & Infrastructure Maintenence:
- We are not really sure if chemicals going into pond are working?
- Communication: None
- Volunteers: Suggested that we have a signup sheet for break time refreshments each week
- Education Programs/Speakers:
- Question was asked whether we redo tick program maybe in late June.
- Consider asking Marcus Rosten- WNY Wilday Director for a fall program
- Schedule a date for Brandon Webb and Tiffany Donaldson from ASP to visit us on a weekday
- Community Relations: None
- Memorial Program: None
- Town of Ellicottville: None
- Field Trips:
- Great trip to Cornell Botanical Gardens on 5/14/25—maybe another trip in the fall?
- Wish List:
- We still need a spot for the Chestnut Oak Tree
- Unfinished Business:
- Mark Chudy contacted again about moving rock to Dwarf Conifer Garden
- Nice job on both the Dwarf Conifer Garden and the Pollinator Garden!
